Sally B

This may not be my best photo but this lovely old plane flew over work today. I was informed by colleague Chris, that it was a B17 and he thought it was Sally B. It’s one of of 4 that are still air worthy and the last remaining one in Europe. A little bit more research and I’ve found out she’s on display at IWM Duxford, which is relatively close and is appearing but not landing at the Battle of Britain Air show this weekend. There’s a chance it might fly over again tomorrow.
Although based at Duxford she’s not part of their collection and is maintained by sponsorships and donations. In case any blippers are interested here’s the link.
