Today's the day ...................... pour Le Grand Depart

An exciting day, in this house at least, with the start of Le Tour de France - and the prospect of three weeks of professional cycling through fabulous French scenery.

We're all ready to follow the action in the company of the expert commentators - but we also have our own copy of the 'Tour de France Official UK Race Guide 2023' close at hand.  This is a picture from it featuring Tom Pidcock from the Ineos Grenadiers Team, on his way to winning the stage on the Alpe d'Huez  last year.  Can he repeat that success this year, I wonder?

If all the stages are as exciting as the one that took place today in the Basque Country, north of Spain, we're in for a treat ....................
