Early night

Last night’s travel didn’t go to plan! My train reached Peterborough, less than an hour into the journey from Kings Cross, just before midnight. After a delay of about 20 minutes we were all told to get off; somebody hadn’t paid for a ticket and had verbally abused the train manager / guard. That person was arrested, and the remainder of the passengers were left stranded on the platform for 2 hours. The guard and the crew headed off to York on an empty train. There were many furious people.

I eventually reached Middlesbrough at 6.30am. Having been awake for more than 24 hours I headed to bed, as did Anna; she had been awake all night worrying about me.

We have done a few jobs this afternoon,
and are now heading to bed early.
