Something grabs hold of me tightly

We woke at 7 this morning. The idea was that I would shower before the packing commenced.

I got up opened the door. It was pissing with rain and there was a howling wind. I decided that having a shower and being wet when I went on the homeward sail would probably result in pneumonia

Stinky DWNB it would be

Topped and tailed I dressed and had a coffee wandered round the damp garden once more and then commenced the stripping of the bed and the packing.

We did it pretty sharp and by 9am we were sitting in a picture perfect room. (To be honest. I think it was cleaner than when we arrived).

R appeared promptly at 930 and we commenced the walk to the pier. The neighbours we witnessed taken a stack of black bin bags over in the small boat. rather wreck less I thought since the waves were high and like I mentioned very wet

But still there was a tractor full of bags our bags were loaded first. Tooli made a stand and said ‘mum is not lifting’ and made me stand to one side

Half of the house was out and they shouted some of them to get down

It seriously looked as though they had more stuff. They still had well over 80 toilet rolls

All the stuff on board. They then let us know that it might be too rough to land at Arduenne and we would divert to Craobh and would be ferried to the car and someone could drive back. OMG

Fortunately when we got across the water it was much nicer, wind had calmed, rain had stopped and we were able to. Disembark. Tooli instructed me to leave the boat and go to the car

I wasn’t going to Argue

She made her dad move up the line of folk so he wasn’t the one doing heavy lifting. She is an Absolutely godsend

I made it to the car and moved it down to the pier; wandered down to hear that the neighbours had disembarked and we heading to their cars and Si said ‘oh aye walk to the car and leave us to unload your stuff’. And one of the party called them all back

When I got there everything was unloaded - I picked up a couple of our bags and headed back up. Tooli followed with another four ; Si the same and two of the neighbours came with the balance. I nearly fell on my back

Tooli returned to grab the rubbish (our rubbish) and one of the neighbours walked
Back up with her…. Asking about her daily walks (he had been keeping an eye out for her) and asking if she had been to Oxford (she was wearing her Oxford jacket - but it’s not blazing it out). weird man. He was at least 45. She said if she knew he had been watching her walking she wouldn’t have been

Anyhooo’s with their help we were able to Leave before them! Yayyyy

We left and headed down the road. It was a nice drive. Mixed weather; good tunes

We stopped at Cheesecake Cottage and picked up this wee beauty. A Traditional 99 cheesecake. Now that it has been demolished I won’t need to eat for about five days .

Home. Washing in. Quick run to allotment to check all was well…. Quick run to library to return all the books read .. quick jaunt to the supermarket

And then we all collapsed on the sofa
