I declare Langdale Gala is now open...

So said the Gala Queen, watched by a small crowd, Blast Furness, and a small boy who was ready for the fancy dress competition.  This was a very traditional village gala with races (including egg and spoon and sack races), Cumberland wrestling and fell races for every age from up-to-9s.  The band played, the heavens opened, the band went to the pub for lunch... I'm sure you've all been there.
