Adieu [TLT I]
TLF - The Longest Thursday. 1st of a series of pictures from the day backfilled due to my having much on.
Our last live session for the Language of Pain research. Such was the openness, sharing and warmth of our very diverse group that three people were overcome with emotion and shedding tears:
(1) Tears streaming down my face was facilitated by the deep guided meditation with body scanning and other creative suggestions. Amongst my feelings I felt myself at The Minster descending into a crypt whilst TK moved upwards; also ascending to heaven arms raised above my head with TK by my side - also drawn from an album title "Lift up your skinny wrists like antennas to heaven"
(2) We had 15 minutes to do a very open brief collage of our key takeaways and thoughts from the project program. One co-researcher was too overcome to explain hers.
(3) Our only facilitator for this session was also holding back the tears as she summed up her experience and learning from the programme.
I was pleased that she picked up on my observation of the
"virtuous circle that chronic pain can lead to improved creativity and that in turn, improved creativity can lead to reduced chronic pain"
In part this thought was implanted by this recent BBC Radio 4 Today clip featuring Samuel Smith.
Another featuring Charlotte Church also made a deep impression with me.
