Earthquake House…..

in Comrie Perthshire was built in around 1874 to provide a location for a seismoscope to register an earthquake shock and was the first ever purpose-built observatory. Comrie has had a history of earthquakes, which gave rise to the name ‘ Shaky Toon ‘.
A modern seismograph is now operating in the building.
