Swimmer #59

The Lee Swim.
I put down a predicted time to match that of my friends, so that I would be in the same wave of swimmers as them. It was a 'hen party' swim. When I asked yesterday how we were going to swim it I was informed they would be racing it. All speedy swimmers these, with a chance of gold medals all round! So of course I was in their wave and lost them off the blocks. I did have a lovely swim, good pace, enjoyed the scenery and the crowds lining tbe banks. However, an error with the timing chips meant there were no verified finish times. With 457 swimmers in about 15 waves 30 seconds apart it was all too complicated to figure out winners. They tried to do the main categories but there were angry parents and tearful teenagers, what a mess!

Anyway, we all had a lovely day and evening. I can't remember the last 'hen' I was at.
