Motion-blur geese in the evening light
Another remarkably chilly day for the latter half of May. I spent the morning recording some more quadrats in Brampton Wood - it's certainly a very large site and variable and it's difficult to try and find representative stands of vegetation. Still, I'm over half way through the woodland recording now.
In the evening I took Rosie to the Rowing Lake for a walk. The sun had finally appeared and the low light was absolutely stunning. The fresh foliage of the willows was the most vivid lime-green, contrasting with deep bluish-grey clouds and the emerald green of the grass. These two geese were just near the car-park and in my haste to capture them the camera settings were wrong. I took another shot with more appropriate settings but in the end I rather liked the accidental effect - somewhat reminiscent of an Impressionist painting!
