Saxicola torquata

A very smart male Stonechat alerting the neighbours that Indie & I were in the vacinity, the birds perch on the top of gorse and any twiggy bits making a right racket. The heathland habitat suits them perfectly, the nest in the gorse, the blackberries & numerous grass seed providing their diet. We're not going to bother them, Indie certainly is'nt interested, now if it was a pheasant ......
An early visit to the plot, tied in tomato plants, water all the veggies, changed the mesh protection on the row of coriander, picked peas, broad beans, courgettes, & lettuce. Thinned the beetroot.
After lunch, hubby went off to watch England v Oz cricket on the tv in The Ship, & I cut fabric & stitched, & stitched, & stitched. It went a lot more smoothly than I anticipated.  Cord threaded through the header ... et voila!
Fitting will take place in the morning.
Duck for dinner with lovely plot produce. YUM!!! I did need to hide the broad beans & peas from hubby as they would have all disappeared  before being cooked otherwise.
