Getting lined up

Bert and I traveled up to just east of Rotterdam to see Pippa race one last time this season. She combined with rowers from Leiden to start the coxed 4. The photo is taken just before the start, when the crews are lined up for the start and have to row under the bridge to get onto the racing course.
The weekend turned out to be utterly heartbreaking for Pippa, 3 events and 3 times she came 2nd… unfortunately, in rowing second places do no count.
It is hard to see your baby so devastated.
