Chocolate box

I was so uninspired in my search for a blip that I started messing about with the in-camera filters. This one reminded me of the kind of cheesy pictures you used to get on chocolate boxes. It certainly won't be a candidate for this year's calendar.

Swimming again this morning -- it's still a bit chilly but quite bearable once you're in. All the usual suspects were present.

At midday there was a rassemblement républicain at the mairie, requested by the national association of mayors. Not many of us turned up, but it was short notice. After Serge's speech about supporting public services and respecting public servants, someone piped up and said we should respect police and gendarmes too. Serge agreed that they are public servants, but commented that it would be good if their official unions didn't refer to youths like Nahel as "scum" and "vermin". In other news a mayor's home was attacked by ramming it with a car, and his wife broke her leg escaping with their two young children. Being a small-town mayor is a thankless and increasingly dangerous task.

S set off for his intensive Catalan course in Girona this morning. He's taking this project very seriously!
