Wrapped and ready...
To be left at Gleneagles tomorrow morning for our friends Drew & Audrey who are there till Friday :-)
Today has whizzed by. Up at 7am, garden guys arrived at 8am. D headed off to Leven at 9am. Went to the studio to unpack the art materials I took on holiday. That turned into a major re-arrangement of paint brushes and paints. Much tidier and all the brushes I use most in one place.
Empire biscuits made and on the rack cooling before lunch. Eighteen biscuits all together (we ll 36 but they're doubled up), which is perfect. Six for D&A and the rest I will freeze then jam and ice on Friday to take to Gail and Alan's on Saturday.
Got a painting sketch done for the commission I have from our friend Jann who we met up with on holiday last week. Looking forward to this one. It's small but fun. Wasn't able to make a start on the slate tile painting for Gail and I couldn't reach my acrylic paint and with D at golf and Alan and Jordan off on an adventure to Dundee, there was no one to get it for me. But I did manage to give the slate a second coat of primer so it's all ready to go. Should really start tomorrow but also keen to go and see the new Indiana Jones film. I LOVE Harrison Ford :-)
D got back from golf just as the garden guys were finishing for the day. They've done so much including removing the stump of a conifer tree. The areas of the garden being replanted have been cleared, dug over and refilled with soil and compost. When D and I went out to have a look the garden was very fragrant, but not in a good way. Touch of manure in that compost methinks!
E, the garden designer had been and placed all the plants so tomorrow they will be planted. It looks great already. She's also instructed the guys to move a number of plants from one area of the garden where they look quite messy (they're grassy type plants) to the opposite side, where they will fit perfectly under the big trees in a woodland planting scheme. I am so excited as ferns are also being planted and I love ferns.
Dinner was the smoked mackerel pate I made yesterday for our starter with Agnes and Adrian then forgot about it! Delicious on toasted sourdough bread.
Decorated Drew and Audrey's Empire biscuits after dinner and boxed them up. Quite pleased with these little presentation boxes :-)
Finally gave Lola her belated birthday pressies. See extra for why we never usually bother buying her any stuffed toys! This was a record for her. Stuffing out within 60 seconds of getting her paws on the toy! *rolls eyes*
