Pictorial blethers

Bluebell wood

Another late afternoon walk, another profusion of flower pics. This time they're all of bluebells - great drifts of them, under the trees and between the embryonic clumps of ferns and bracken. I find blue hard to reproduce accurately - suspect I'd need a better camera and more patience fiddling with it - but this photo does seem to deliver the misty quality of the blue carpets away up the hill under the trees, with mossy logs lying among the flowers and the pervading light scent in the evening air. Perhaps the fact that the sun had gone behind a cloud helped - no confusing shadows to upset the balance.

I realise as I typed the tag "Spring" below that today was actually the first day of the meteorologists' Summer; the bluebells are usually gone by the now.
