All Dressed Up

It was Harthill’s official unveiling of their well dressing which is a tradition in parts of South Yorkshire and Derbyshire. The displays are made out of floral petals. This is where the original village well was situated.
This years display celebrated the 100 year anniversary of the building of The Flying Scotsman which was built in South Yorkshire.
The local school and community choirs sang (of which Sal’s mum is a member) and this was followed by a performance by the local Morris Dancers.
I really enjoyed it, it was nice being witness to a community spirit which is sadly lacking in large cities these days.
