I had a lovely day on my ownsome today.

A bus up to Newington and a browse round all the charity shops then a stroll up to the Meadows to see what the festival had to offer (where this photo was taken - I didn't go in, it was a bit small and slightly 'too' alternative even for me).

Then a further stroll up to Forrest Road and onwards stopping at Greyfriars Bobby where the road was closed off for pedestrians as well as cars as there was what seemed to be an orange march coming up from the Grassmarket and then along Chambers Street with drums and tin whistles a plenty.

Once they had all passed I strolled further on along George IV Bridge and then dodging tourists up the High Street.

Further on along Johnston Terrace and down onto Castle Terrace where there was a farmers market going on (I managed to avoid buying any yummies and munched on my apple).

A stroll along Princes Street with a few shops thrown in for good measure then the bus back home.

Approx 6km under the belt plus a further couple whilst walking Bailey.

Then I go and spoil it by having a chicken fried rice for tea - damn and blast!!!
(I did do some gardening this evening and swept the house so hopefully all today's excercise has counteracted the naughty dinner!}
