Diving into Abbey Road

Today for me has been dominated by The Beatles Abbey Road album.  I’ve been writing about it and I listened to the recent remix earlier on. I own two vinyl copies, one a reissue, the other a first pressing from 1969. My daughter gave me a dressing down on the phone yesterday. Mostly justified. But if anyone else had talked to me like that I’d be raging. It’s hard to be mad at her, so I decided I would give her the 1969 pressing as a birthday present, with some of my blurb. I wrote:
For me, Abbey Road is the best sounding Beatles album. It has great sonic and tonal depth. It feels like diving head first into a deep pool at the foot of a tropical waterfall.
