He doesn’t look happy

Maybe the seed wasn’t up to his usual standard.

A lovely morning at RSPB Middleton Lakes. Great fun as Merlin heard so much. I was able to see a Goldcrest with help but far too elusive to photograph. So many other birds heard and I’m beginning to recognise some of the most obvious.

I got a bit carried away and walked too far.

I didn’t see the barn owls, apparently around 24/7 because they are feeding babies. 

Only two Commas, two Meadow Browns and a Ringlet. Getting worried about our absent butterflies.
