Refugio Respumoso

Up and away off grid - an easy hike up valley but gaining quite a lot of height to 2200m. Main excitement on the way was another hiker finding a sizable snake. I arrived so early I sat in a secluded spot by the refugio to hang out in the sun and eat my picnic. Check in at 3pm. Hilariously and predictably I’ve been put in a room with the Americans - the English speaking quarter! Dinner at the singles table - chatted to a Belgian lady who’s camping and doing the whole route and Czech guy who’s got 30 days for what’s normally a 45 day route.
