Wings
A gorgeous shell duck at Slimbridge this afternoon.
I'd gone there feeling a bit guilty really with grandson at home but a white-spotted blue-throat had rocked up there a few days ago and I thought I might have a chance at seeing it. No, let's get real - photographing it. The weather had turned into being really breezy and no way was any shot going to happen as I looked out over the swaying reedbed. The other star of the show was the black-winged stilt - see him showing in Extra.
Exhausted is just not cutting how I feel atm. I'd been to my morning pt session as usual after a couple of hours sorting out the house chaos. I shot to WWT Slimbridge and must have walked a few miles then came home to deal with grandson. We have had a lot of fun but goodness. On taking him to the local ball park I discovered it had closed and after thinking I didn't need a buggy (big mistake) and carrying him (bigger mistake) a lot of the way we came home for tea. The only happy bunny was Poppy as she sat under the high chair almost saying to bring it on which the little darling obliged doing.
I've now sat with a glass of wine to recuperate, the boys who have been to a shooting competition aren't home yet and Tash has taken little one off to bed.
