Thick-legged flower beetle (Ischnomera cyanea)

I noticed this colourful chap on my window pane as I was eating breakfast this morning. I coaxed him to climb onto a twig and then took him into the sun for a little photo shoot. It struck me how beautifully iridescent he was, and I noticed his bulging 'thighs'. I remember reading something about such an insect in this months' issue of BBC Wildlife Magazine (page 8) so grabbed the mag and realised it was this little beetle!

He flew off after a short while, perhaps to find his own breakfast of pollen?!
