You don't find roses growing on stalks of clover

After I got my work done, I went to take care of the roses. 

Not this type of rose, you understand. 

These were more the horrible sucker-type rose branches that had gone wild just outside our bedroom window. I can't claim total victory, but there are a lot fewer of the nasty, thorny buggers now.
