Bees, Bees, And More Bees
Today is packing and shopping day. I filled the bird feeders and hubby scrubbed and filled a bird bath. We have so many birds (mostly English sparrows) that they empty most of the feeders each day. We definitely must get rid of our bird houses. Hubby cut the grass. There were tons of bees out today buzzing around my flowers. Decided to share a few with you. I was heading out at 9:30 to get the groceries but noticed there were emergency vehicles at every intersection of our main road. My sister called and reminded me today is the funeral for the young fireman who perished in that house fire last week. They literally closed the two main roads in/out of our county for his funeral. The base gates were closed as well. He worked at the base fire station (like my father). The funeral procession drove past every fire station in our county that he was affiliated with to honor this young man. There were over 150 emergency vehicles from throughout the state plus family and friends’ vehicles in the procession. And as I said, every intersection was blocked along the two roads by an emergency vehicle. What a tribute. Hubby will take me shopping later because we are expecting storms. We are going to grab a salad for dinner. Thanks for the visit, leaving stars and nice comments. I hope I am all caught up with journals. Stay safe. “A bee is never as busy as it seems; it's just that it can't buzz any slower.” - Kin Hubbard
