Start of the holiday trek

Drove today from Edinburgh to Durham to visit my step-granddaughter Catherine, and Ellie.  Both are doing post-grads at the University and they made me so welcome at their lovely home.  Ellie took me to see the magnificent cathedral and we walked along the river to meet Catherine for a gorgeous Turkish meal.  Both are keen cooks and gardeners and I left with a couple of bottles of their homemade Elderflower champagne to take to Portugal.  Just hope it doesn’t explode on the ferry!
