One day at a time

Inspection

This morning at 11.30 I played a pre-arranged two wood match against the club president to much consternation from The Ladies. They were concerned that we were playing on the green when a county match between Northumberland and Cumbria ladies was due to start at 1.30pm. The president had to ‘pull rank’. So our game went ahead which I won, now going through to the final.
We were finished about an hour before the ladies match started. Here we see one of them checking each bowl being used by the team members. A mark is made with chalk on each if it passes muster. She is looking for a valid date stamp on each. Bowls are stamped for ten years. So it will have to have a stamp of 2023 or later. Nobody would turn up having been selected to play for their county with an out of date bowl.
