Porthcawl
The forecast was for a warm sunny day and we weren’t disappointed. Even by 9am it was warm with bright sunshine, such a contrast to yesterday morning. On the spur of the moment we decided to go down to the seaside.
We selected Porthcawl as our destination and headed off. We had easy parking and then made our way to a pleasant cafe with an upstairs outdoor terrace overlooking the beach. A thick glass screen kept up protected from the quite strong onshore breeze. Below the cafe a surfboard hire shop was doing brisk business and we watched as youngsters carried their steeds down to the water.
After lunch we walked along the cliffs and then down onto the beach where the tide was going out. The sun was strong and by mid-afternoon we were happy to make our way back to the car and make the drive back to Llangattock. I watched the rest of the Murray match and was sad to see him lose after such a battle.
