Farewell Scotland

A final morning over the border.
We visited Duns just for a look as it’s the place where my friend was born. They were enjoying Reivers Week. My friend was an Elliot, a clan name historically associated with border reivers (rustlers), we found the house where she was born and where her father was the town doctor.

From there we headed to the coast at St Abbs - blip.
We had a coffee in the little cafe centre right here and then a wander around the harbour. It was as if someone had flicked a switch and turned up the heating as it was suddenly very warm.

It was time to leave Scotland and drive south into Northumberland to visit my sister in law, also from a family with historic connection with reivers on the English side of the border. We spent a most pleasant afternoon with her as the temperature got hotter and hotter!

Home now with the cat waiting to greet us.
It seems a long time since we left and had that fabulous family party weekend in the Lakes. It certainly a long time since we’ve had a full two weeks away and it has been very special.

Thank you for all your interest in our travels and for your kind comments, stars and hearts. They were very much appreciated.
