Coastal thistles
We couldn’t ride the WS railway yesterday as it wasn’t running so went down this morning as we left. As luck would have it, a train ( diesel ) was due in minutes so we bought a one way from Dunster to Blue Anchor.
Gosh that ride took me back! As the daughter of a railway man we got complimentary travel so I went all over, particularly from Reading to Scotland, in the compartments with the sliding doors…
We walked back along the coat path. The tide was in and I liked the colour of the thistles against the sky- before it rained.
We left about 1130 and had a smooth if slow journey back behind farm vehicles and caravans and motor homes on the A39 to Bridgwater. Must be awful in high summer!!
All good at home- the cat looked surprised to see us.
I’ve just made a cake to celebrate the birthday on Thursday. I tasted one away called Lemon Grove which was Delicious; GF and vegan so I’ve made a lemon sponge…
