Blackwater Estuary and beyond

A view from the tower, looking across the Blackwater Estuary, towards West Mersea. There is plenty to see, including boats of various kinds racing, bird life and the rare breeds of cattle which graze in the fields around.

We’ve had a lazy day as it’s been nearly 30 degrees. This morning to get our bearings, we wandered from where we are staying along a disused railway line to the local town and got bread from the bakery, then returned for lunch and to read (me) and watch Wimbledon and the Tour de France (Andy).

We’ve just returned from a wander around the local yacht basin and as well as boats, seen a large natural salt water pool which was busy with children swimming and paddle-boarding. As the air slowly cools, Andy is cooking an Indian meal for dinner.

Hoping your Saturday has gone well.
