Temple Sandcastle

This is the first Buddhist temple that I've seen with a sandcastle. No, I wouldn't guess that the monks were bored one day. It looks as though it's related to making merit, keeping around the good spirits, and things like that. I wish there was someone around I could have asked, but alas, we will just have to keep wondering until next time.
