The Parrot

Yesterday was the final day of the course.  The final evening was full of gatherings, small presentations dotted around the venue, and general socialising.  There were 200 participants, and all greatly enjoyed reconnecting after six years, and after Covid.

Today, three of us headed off for a homestay in the north of the Netherlands, near Groningen - the hostess, another woman, and myself.  Our hostess lives in an idyllic setting in the Dutch countryside.  And the parrot?  She and her partner have a parrot for a pet.  Every evening they let it out of its cage so it can fly around a bit and socialise.  It never took to me, but became quite enamoured of the other guest.
