…about lost MrR today to the sinking mud of our allotment. His trainers are generally bright blue…

He was attempting to net our beans…took a step on to the bed and immediately sunk into it…not before he also had his other foot on the bed…which also sank…then he was having to try and extract himself from the mud!

The lower part of the allotment has water on the surface. The bit we were at had obviously been pounded by last nights torrential rain but the water was only visible when he stepped into it.

I suspect we are suffering from the double whammy of torrential rain on the top and the water table also being high.

Really not sure when this will get better because as far as I can see the majority of July looks set to be prone to these heavy downpours.

The beans are going to have to fend for themselves just now.

Grateful that MrR managed back to a dry path!
