Nocturnal newt spotting

The newts are definitely back in the pond. I've had a few sightings. The algae in the pond is quite bad at the moment so they can be tricky to spot. I've been out a few times with a torch to try and spot them. Tonight, all I saw were a few slugs and this weevil on the rocks by the side of the pond.

I'm sure the neighbours think I'm completely mad.
