Caterpillars

I blipped one of these , starting to demolish my Solomon seal and here they are again having not much of the plant left. They don’t eat any other plant and they don’t become beautiful butterflies. They drop into the ground and in the spring the sawfly plants it’s eggs into the stems on the new plant. The caterpillars kindly wait till the flowers are over before feasting.
