Inn Sign

Mono Monday theme is “ Sign”. This is our local pub and I believe the only one of this name  in the country.
The name apparently originated from a sixteenth century saying that beer would huff your cap, or make your head swell. The pub was originally a staging post on the road from Stratford on Avon to Bridgnorth . 
I’ve also heard the explanation that it refers to the cap of froth on top of your pint.
It’s lovely to see it open and busy. It was closed for about three years and we really missed it.
