Wet
Today was more typical for the Faroes.. We didn't have much planned anyway since we'd had two very full day so caught up on some laundry and stayed in Tórshavn.
It was also the perfect day for a visit to the public library! As often when out of the UK, I was impressed by it. It has three floors, with the entire top floor for children, including an activity room, and a changing room. I talked to the librarian there and she said that most of the books are in Danish, particularly the non-fiction because there are not enough faroese books published.. Picture books tend to be in Faroese, but there are also some in Danish.
The second floor was for adults and young adults. I didn't find a separate teen section but of course the signage was in Faroese. There were a lot of different rooms and nooks and crannies and it looked very comfortable. In one of the rooms, there were also games and two teenagers were playing chess. The books were a bit more tatty than I am used to but I can understand that!
It had stopped raining when I left the library so I walked around Tórshavn, looking at the boats, around Tinganes and the old town.
