Manor House of Burravoe
Steekit (pea soup) mist this morning, which didn't clear in Scalloway until late afternoon. Some lovely sunny weather north, and a sunny evening.
A day off, well a week off now. Up early and a morning around the house, before walkies and a cuppa at Madeline's. Also spoke to friend Robin Sinclair while out. Picked up friend Julie, and went north for a run, escaped the mist. While in Yell, bumped into friend Neil Williamson, and had a cuppa on his veranda. A evening at home in the garden, then popped down to mam's. Feet up now.
A lovely day away from the mist, and a few good walks with the dogs. Also some shopping at Mary's in Aywick, and Mid Yell. I've never really studied this old Manor House before, it really is stunning. The original building was built in 1860, with the front bay windows and veranda built around 1920. I'm not entirely sure who commissioned the building, but there was the Bruce family living here in 1861. Looking at Manor House of Burravoe, from Heoganess, Burravoe, Yell.
