Tortoiseshell butterfly

There were two and they seem to be taking lumps out of each other. Even butterflies can't play nice it seems.

Highlight of this afternoon's walk on the western approaches to Kinder Scout was the sight below and admittedly a long way off of a pair of Cuckoos - great to hear both the 'cuckoo' call and the strange bubbly call of the female Cuckoo. Of course they were nowhere to be seen after descending the hill !
