Fountains Abbey

I never tire of seeing this fabulous structure - apologies if I have blipped it before.

Mrs madwill ‘suggested’ that we go for a walk today - so, being in no position to argue, I tagged along. It was unusually quiet there today and we did get rained on quite a bit!! The photo was taken in one of the less wet periods with just a hint of blue sky….

We started from the Studley Royal entrance and walked to the tea hut near the mill. The hut was open today (last time we came it was closed)…so we grabbed some coffees and a Kit Kat and went to sit in the little summer house near to Fountains Hall.Walked back, taking the route alongside ornamental ponds. A round trip of 3.5 miles!Then we popped into Ripon for lunch and a wander around the shops!
