Sonnenkind

The much anticipated Abutilon 'Sonnenkind' arrived this morning. Although its just a small young plant it already has a flower bud so we should see the colour later this week. As you can tell from the name ('Sun child') it is another cultivar that originated in Duisberg, Germany. Not the most exciting photograph but its significant to me.

A Purple Hairstreak late this afternoon has finally edged my butterfly species count into the 30s. It usually reaches 30 by the middle of June.
