Liverpool Biennial
A terrific day out at the Liverpool Biennial 2023. This contemporary art exhibition is located in various buildings and other locations around the city. This was our favourite work in the Tate gallery - Torkwase Dyson's Liquid a Place.
We went to just three other venues - the immense Tobacco Warehouse, where a long tapestry by Isa do Rosario Dance with Death on the Atlantic Sea" was striking and moving. The most unusual building was the Cotton Exchange, where three exhibits in a spooky 1907 basement included Lungiswa Gqunta's Sleeping Pools. The Bluecoat Gallery featured Benoit Pieron's Le Lit made from discarded hospital bed sheets.
Well worth a visit - we missed more than we saw.
