Puzzle
OK. I'm blipping this because it has shown up in my garden & I've no idea what it is. I THINK it mught be an aquilegia variation because the leaves & the way the flowers are held are very aquilegia like - as is the colour. I do have lots of aquilegias in the garden and like hellebores they hybridise all over the place. But this has none of the aquilegia spurs. Neither does it have the central part of the flower. Its more like a small clematis flower! So, is it a very strange aquilegia or is it something else? Does anyone recognise it? I may have to save the seed to see if I could get it to come true next year.
