Things of Beauty
In times of turmoil and sadness, it helps to take a moment to find things of beauty. I took some much needed time out to connect with nature, camera in hand, today. It changes nothing, but it helped to clear my head.
The butterfly is a Great Spangled Fritillary and the flower is swamp milkweed which is abundant in my garden. I've yet to see a single Monarch Butterfly, but I am periodically checking the milkweed patches to see if there are any little caterpillars. Soon.
Hug someone today, and never forget to tell people you love them.

MIL was mostly sleeping today although she was responsive to questions and even managed a couple of cheeky responses. Mostly, though, she is sleeping. The morphine is only being administered now as needed and she seems to be mostly comfortable without it. SIL went back to work today but Hubs is staying at her side. Lots of handholding and gentle hugs. She took a few bites of food yesterday but nothing today. And only a few small sips of water. Hard to hold back the tears sometimes. Thankfully she knows her children are with her - she would tell you that they are her greatest achievement
