I promised to Blip the mystery object when it was fitted and here it is installed on the main bulkhead of Saffron above the chart table.
The plotter is on the left, the pencils in the middle (all 2B of course) and the dividers top right.
And the hole?
To put the eraser and pencil sharpener in.

43 miles by gps due to a lot of tacking against the tide between Pye End and Harwich, eventually gave up and started the engine!
Actual journey time 8 hours which we felt was pretty good.
