Looking a Little the Worse for Wear

The volunteer poppies in the vegetable garden are not enjoying the current weather - we're having what my mother called 'thunder plumps' - short showers of huge raindrops.

I didn't seem to achieve much today. I'm trying to wrestle my family history project into some sort of coherence, but have got diverted into spending a lot of time looking at DNA matches. All very interesting, but I can't get my head round all the technicalities. It's time I got back on the straight and narrow!

I've reached the yoke of the Icelandic sweater, and that was going well till I realised that I have confused a couple of the colours. Or I think I have .... I will look at it again tomorrow.

All this suggests that I'm not exactly thinking straight - an early night is called for.
