July 12

One of the gardens we worked on today, weeded and freshly mulched. This is a design/build job that I did in 2021, now we are there for bi-weekly maintenance.
Then we moved on to another job where we were removing some cotoneaster shrubs that had died back to the ground over the winter. They were also planted in the wrong spot, as they keep growing over the sidewalk. While we were there a guy driving by stops in the middle of the street and asks if we are a landscaping company. I answer yes, and he asks if I can come down and have a look at his property, 3 houses down. I give him an approximate price for weeding it, he agrees, and I have another job, just like that.
Many times in my life, things happen for a reason. I have started the process, hoping to buy a mini home. I have had a client for several years who is a real estate agent. Last year I posted a question about mortgages in a FB group and ended up having a mortgage broker answer me. When he found out that I have a landscaping business, he asked me for a quote for some work at his place, which was a job we did last year. I am doing more work for him this year on another property. Now this newest client does home inspections and energy audits for low income Nova Scotians. I may not be a religious person, but I believe that things happen for a reason and that the Lord will send the right people into my life when I need them.
