Oregon Ki Society Motto
I'm caring for the children till Sunday, so I took both of them swimming and then took Evan to Aikido. I asked the head sensei (teacher) for a copy of their motto. Said teacher (extreme left in this photo) is a splendid woman from Glasgow. Here's the motto, which I find very moving, an apt intention for us all:
Let us have a universal mind
that loves and protects all creation
and helps all things grow and develop.
To unify mind and body
and become one with the universe
is the ultimate purpose of my study.
Four major principles to unify mind and body:
1. Keep one point
2. Relax completely
3. Keep weight underside [balance on two feet]
4. Extend ki.
Cristina returns from her gig with Maxwell on Sunday and will immediately pack the children and the dog into the car and drive to Seattle. They'll spend the night in a hotel, and they have an appointment at the passport office at 8:30 a.m. Monday. We're all hoping they get the passports in time for their departure for Greece on Wednesday. If all goes well, they will see their dad in Athens before next week is out.
