Raymond Briggs
Met my friend Anna and went to the Cambridge University Library - commonly called the UL to see an exhibition of Raymond Briggs's illustrations.
You may know his books: Fungus the Bogeyman, The Snowman, When The Wind Blows to name a few. The exhibition featured his original sketches and drawings for his books and early works. It was enthralling to see.
If you've enjoyed reading Raymond Briggs's books and are nearby do go and have a look. It's free but if you book a ticket online you'll also be able to use your ticket as a pass to the Buttery for refreshment. It's on until 26 August 2023.
We then went to Café au Chocolat for coffee and chat. One topic was the scurrilous rag the sun (- it just doesn't deserve initial capitals) causing misery and distracting from national issues.
Back home and after a salad lunch made a cake from a recipe online with apricots and ground almonds. I will try it tomorrow when my friend Giovanna visits.
Now to watch a bit of something before turning in.
Pleasant evening everyone.
