Shopping
There are four supermarkets in Reguengos, the town about half an hour away, where we tend to shop: Lidl, Pingo Doce and Intermarché are all close together on the other side of town, and Continente, which is the first thing we come to as we get there, so it's where we tend to go. (Except for croissants, which we get from Lidl, as theirs are made with butter.) Continente belongs to the largest retailer in Portugal, and has 519 stores around the country, including in the Azores.
We often meet folk there and chat; there's a café, a chemist, an electronics shop, and a clothing shop, plus some furniture. They have brilliant wine sales several times a year, plus 15% discounts regularly for members.
Tonight, it was a quick in and out, to buy paint, mainly, and then we drove to São Pedro to visit Ulla-Margreth, who has been flat in bed for a fortnight so far, with a herniated disc.
Gratefuls:
- a lovely Zoom with the office staff of our organisation, asking about us and praying for us
- seeing all my kids and grandkids on the phone today
- Deb doing such a good job of editing the talk I did for our church's YouTube
