Matariki Morning…..

We, here in New Zealand, are having a public holiday to celebrate Māori New Year…… the appearance of the Matariki cluster of stars in the north east. Maisie and I went out walking at 6.30.am. I was hoping to see the Makariki cluster but unfortunately there was too much cloud in the north east. The lovely colours of the dawn sky provided some consolation. A favourite viewpoint…. The Lop-sided Pine. The day has been relatively mild here, sunshine galore and a westerly breeze. Great for drying out my pile of firewood.
